Why is the Nervous System Important?

Does the Nervous System control the body's ability to self heal and self regulate?

If this is true, then why doesn't a cut finger stay cut forever? It self-heals whether we think about it or not! Your body is self regulating every second.

Your heart continually beats, your breath is regular, you constantly digest the food you eat, your body temperature will remain consistent temperature even if you get too hot or cold.
The examples of self regulation are endless!

The Central Nervous System (CNS) coordinates everything. Nothing in our body would ever happen if the CNS couldn't sense the internal and external environment and communicate what it sensed to every single cell, tissue and organ in the body. When the communication between the brain and the body becomes inefficient, ineffective or even inappropriate, the body begins to break down. It moves away from wellness and toward chronic disease.

Chiropractic is concerned with improving CNS function and communication between the environment and the body. The role of the chiropractor is to help facilitate and restore the appropriate communication between the brain and the body by removing Spinal Subluxation to allow the body to self heal and self regulate.

Chiropractic helps people become better self healers and self regulators.

In order to understand how critical Chiropractic becomes to a wellness paradigm, let's better understand the relationship between the CNS (brain and spinal cord), the spine, the environment and prolonged stress.

What is Chiropractic?

How is Chiropractic more than just "bad backs?"

Most people have come to associate Chiropractic with back pain, but a Chiropractic Lifestyle can offer so much more.

Bad backs do cause pain. The pain and your overall dysfunction come from something that Chiropractors term Spinal Subluxations. Only a Chiropractic assessment and adjustments help locate and reduce Spinal Subluxations thereby addressing your pain and improving your function.

Spinal Subluxations can best be described as specific sites of spinal malfunction leading to irritation of the body's central computer, the Central Nervous System. The end result of spinal malfunction is a separation from wholeness and an inability to experience wellbeing. The wellness continuum shifts from wellness to subchronic to chronic pain. When you experience Spinal Subluxations you are experiencing subchronic pain first.  Spinal Subluxations are what cause the subchronic and chronic pain states in your body.

What is common between pain, disease, dysfunction and health and wellbeing is the integrity between the spine and the Nervous System. What this means is that Spinal Subluxations create a confusion in your body’s interpretation of the messages sent by the Central Nervous System. If the Central Nervous System can have its messages freely travel and express themselves through the spine, without interference and free of Subluxations, then a person can express wellbeing and full potential.

When the Nervous System feels good and is free of Spinal Subluxations, the rest of the body works well.

How do you know if you have a Spinal Subluxation?

Are you experiencing fatigue, recurring pain, insomnia, heart burn, or headaches? These are just a few of the indicators that you have Spinal Subluxations.
